Role in Startup
Recruiting is usually done through your personal network or referrals. You might occasionally post on LinkedIn or specialized job boards. At this point, the bar is incredibly high because each hire is critical.

Objectives
The main goal is to find the best possible people who can thrive in chaos. You need individuals who are flexible, motivated, and can learn quickly. “Cultural fit” is also critical, as a single toxic hire can disrupt the entire small team.

Areas of Specialization
There’s little formal structure. You’ll do the interviews yourself, possibly with a co-founder. You’re probably not doing formal assessments or complex interview loops. The specialization will come later, when you can afford to be more systematic.
