Development

Role in Startup
Development is the engine making your ideas real. You’re coding, testing, and shipping features at breakneck speed. There’s constant iteration, so developers need to be comfortable with changing specs.

Objectives
The immediate objective is to build a minimally stable product that solves your customers’ problem. That might mean taking shortcuts or employing “good enough” solutions to get something out the door. You’re also juggling bug fixes, performance issues, and new feature requests.

Areas of Specialization
Specialization is limited. A single developer might handle frontend, backend, and infrastructure. If you’re lucky, you have a small team of full-stack engineers. As you grow, you’ll start establishing basic version control workflows, code reviews, and continuous integration, but keep overhead as light as possible.
